THE SYNOPSIS
Tall, dark and muscled like a god, Beau Barnett is great with an axe. Every woman in Rockhead Point wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me. Except he doesn’t even know my name. I’m just the girl behind the counter filling his coffee, while he grunts and grumbles, barely making eye contact.
Then a newcomer with a charming smile and a fancy suit shows up in Rockhead Point, and refuses to take no for an answer when he asks me to dinner. That’s when I find out Mr. Mountain Man not only knows my name… he thinks I’m his property.
THE REVIEW
Okay, so I get the mixed reviews on this book. Beau is an ass of EPIC proportions and there were definitely times I wanted to tell Bonnie to run, not walk away from him. But he is much older and knows what he wants and his brothers and dad are hovering throughout the book and would never let Beau do anything to hurt Bonnie. So once I reconciled that in my head, I embraced his obsessive-ness. Bonnie does a good job of putting him in his place and eventually he does ease up a little and they compromise. Bonnie starts to trust that Beau wants a future with her and not just a fleeting relationship which allows her to embrace his desire to be with her all the time, instead of fighting against him and his desires.
Overall, it was a good book and I was hooked with the plot and characters. I am curious to read the other books in the series because the, although all the brothers seem like the possessive type, they all have different personalities and Beau's was definitely the strongest!
